Bernard on verge of joining Everton

The winger was wanted by several clubs in Europe such as Chelsea, Tottenham and Milan but it seems as though he is on his way to Goodison Park.

A Brazilian internaional, Bernard spent 5 seasons at Shaktar in which he won the Ukranian League title 4 times and earned over 40 appearances in the Champions League.

While he was an attractive option for clubs because he is a free agent, it is thought that his wage demands of £200,000 per week were excessive and that a lot of interest from other big teams was lost.

However, Everton have offloaded Wayne Rooney and Davy Klaasen, who were two of their big earners, so will be able to cover the costs.

He is believed to have a medical on Tuesday and then will become the third signing of the summer for Marco Silva's team, alongside Lucas Digne and fellow Brazilian winger Richarlison.
