Real Madrid have given Karim Benzema permission to travel to Qatar. If France call him up, the Merengues' will be delighted to see him in the World Cup final against Argentina. They have no objection to him making the France squad.
However, Benzema does not plan to attend if Didier Deschamps calls him up. That is, at least, what 'Relevo' assures. According to this source, the Real Madrid '9' did not like the coach's latest statements.
After beating Morocco, Deschamps was asked about Benzema and whether he was counting on him for the final. "I'm not going to answer, next question," he said. A phrase that did not go down well with the 'Merengues' striker. Nor has it sat well that, before the semi-finals, the coach closed the door to those who are not in the call-up. "I care about the 24 who are on the list," Deschamps said.
According to 'Relay', Benzema understands that it would not be logical to be part of the France squad now, as there is only one game left and he has not been part of his country's entire journey. He was injured as soon as he arrived and had to leave Qatar without even playing.
For Benzema, Deschamps is acting coldly. He is hurt by this lack of empathy when he refers to him in press conferences, according to the source quoted above.
He would not exactly be happy with the Federation either. Since he had to return to Madrid on 20th December, 'Relevo' claims, he has received no sign of support from Noel Le Graet or any other member of the FFF. He expected more from that side as well.
The Real Madrid striker does not know if Deschamps will call him now or not, but it is clear that he will not be heading to Doha. He will receive the gold or silver medal he is entitled to, as for FIFA he is still part of the squad even if he has to return, but he will not be on the pitch.
