Al Ittihad beat Al Wehda (0-3) in a new Saudi Pro League matchday. However, it was not the best game for their striker, Frenchman Karim Benzema, who was injured late in the first half and had to leave the pitch before half-time.
The former Real Madrid player left the pitch in the 40th minute, with the game tied, goalless, with an injury to the adductor muscle in his left leg. He fell to the turf when he felt the pain and asked to be substituted. Jota took his place.
The Frenchman may miss next week's match against Al Hilal, another of the giants of Saudi football, with Bono, Mitrovic and Neymar still not available, who also managed to claim victory against Al-Ettifaq on Monday.
There were no surprises on the pitch as Nuno Espirito Santo's side won 3-0 away to Al Wehda. Benzema's side took the lead in the second half, after the hour mark, through Romarinho, set up by Ngolo Kante. Jota then added a second and Brazilian Igor Coronado put the icing on the cake with a third.
