Karim Benzema once again made his mark in the Champions League. The Frenchman scored in the first leg at the Di Stefano stadium and once again showed he is a great player.
His goal means he is now level with the legendary Raul Gonzalez as the 4th highest Champions League goalscorer. They have both got 71 goals, but 12 of Benzema's were for Lyon.
Benzema loves the Champions League and is just two off Robert Lewandowski (73). In the Chelsea, he levelled with teammate Sergio Ramos in joint 8th for most number of Champions League appearances (128).
His 6th goal of this season's tournament now means he is part of the chasing pack which are trying to beat Haaland and Mbappe who have 10 and eight goals respectively.
The French forward's season is outstanding and he has saved Zidane's side on several occasions.
Benzema still has a lot of football left in his boots, but it will be practically impossible to beat the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. They have 134 and 120 Champions League goals respectively.
