Belgium sack Thierry Henry

In recent hours, the Belgium Football Federation confirmed that Domenico Tedesco will be the one to take the reins of the national team after Roberto Martinez left to manage the Portugal national side.

In the same announcement of the new boss, the President of Belgian football Peter Bossaerts confirmed that Thierry Henry, who was the Spaniard's assistant in recent years, will not be continuing at the Red Devils for this new stage.

"He spoke to our about his ideas and we'd have liked to keep him with us. But he won't be the assistant manager, but we appreciate his efforts", the President of the Belgian Federation said in front of the journalists in the press room.

As for Vermaelen, the Belgian authorities will be looking to keep him, unlike what happened with Henry, as when the ex-defender retired he quickly got involved in Roberto Martinez' technical team.
