Heavily criticised after Juventus' embarrassing Champions League exit to Porto, Cristiano Ronaldo responded with another historic hat-trick against Cagliari a few days later.
However, the Champions League is back and last week's fiasco resurfaces. The former Juventus boss spoke and Cristiano Ronaldo did not receive many positive comments.
"He wanted to show that he is a champion and that no one should criticise him, hence pointing to his ear after each goal to show the critics that they were wrong. He shouldn't be angry with the criticism after he was part of the poor wall for the free-kick that cost the team against Porto", explained Moggi on "Libero".
"Being 34 at the time, I was against his signing, especially because of the fee. Now it would be unfair not to recognise his worth but people have the right to complain about the games in which he hasn't done enough on the pitch", he continued.
Moggi was very harsh in concluding his speech: "With him on the pitch, Juventus have won the same titles as when he was at Real Madrid. Before he signed for the team, Juve were playing finals, now they've been eliminated in the round of sixteen".
