Bayern Munich are on the hunt for a young centre-midfielder and, after failing to sign Manchester City-bound Rodri, have turned their attention to another Spaniard in Marc Roca.

According to 'Kicker', Niko Kovac wants to strengthen in the middle of the park as Bayern look to defend their title yet again next season.

The German press have reported that Marc Roca is now on the Bavarian's radar after City activated Rodri's release clause.

The Espanyol midfielder is fresh off the back of a hugely successful U21 European Championship, which saw him shine in Spain's midfield as 'La Rojtia' beat Germany to become champions.

Even so, Roca's release clause sits at 40 million Euros and, with Espanyol unwilling to even negotiate below this fee, Bayern will have to go big to bring the 22 year-old over to Germany.
