It's been a busy week for the Bavarian club. They booked their place in the Champions League semi-final, where they will face fellow heavyweights Real Madrid, and announced that former player Niko Kovac will replace Jupp Heynckes at the end of the season.
However, they still have a few league games to negotiate, the first being at home to Monchengladbach in Saturday's late kick-off. Considering their league triumph though, Heynckes took the opportunity to rest his key players ahead of the European match-up on April 25.
It nearly blew up in his face as their opposition stole the lead in the 9th minute through Josip Drmic.
However, Sanddro Wagner scored a four-minute brace from Thomas Muller crosses to give Bayern a half-time lead.
The Bundesliga champions would then build on that advantage in the second 45 minutes as Thiago Alcantara netted from close-range and David Alaba fired home from 20 yards.
Robert Lewandowski would finish the thumping in the 82nd minute to secure a 5-1 victory and extend their lead at the top of the table to 23 points.
