Luis Enrique is hoping that offloading the unwanted pair will reduce the fee necessary to sign midfielder Andre Gomes.
Valencia want €35 million up-front for the Portugal international plus €15-20m in additional clauses. The 'Blaugrana' are hoping that by offering Montoya and Tello, the up-front fee for Gomes will be reduced by €10 million.
Firstly, the two Barcelona youth products will have to be happy with a move to Valencia. Montoya, who spent last season on loan at Real Betis, will almost surely be open to the move and Tello would also probably be happy to make the switch after being frozen out at Fiorentina.
Valencia manager Paco Ayestaran will certainly be interested in the pair and Valencia will be eyeing some new signings after the departures of Barragan, Feghouli, Piatti, Negredo and De Paul.
Do you think these potential signings are behind a deal for Andre Gomes? After all, Valencia did ask Real Madrid for money plus players for the midfielder...
