Barcelona scored twice in 3 minutes to take the lead against Real Sociedad

Sociedad had just missed two excellent chances to extend their lead, after centre-back Aritz Elustondo had put them ahead in the 12th minute.

Ter Stegen was forced to make two sprawling saves to deny Sociedad, and his fine performance earned him man-of-the-match.

Sociedad would soon come to regret those missed opportunities, as Barcelona equalized just moments later.

After a scarmble from a corner, and with the ball bobbling in the 6 yard box, Luis Suarez stepped up to stab the ball past Geronimo Rulli.

Three minutes later, Barca went in front under similar circumstances.

Another corner was poorly defended by Sociedad, and it fell to Ousmane Dembele to smack the ball in via two deflections.

Neither goal was the sort of flowing tiki-taka that Barcelona are famous for, but they were enough to secure a valuable three points at a ground where they have struggled in recent times.

This was only their second win at the Estadio de Anoeta in the last eight years.
