Barcelona pushing in contacts with Laporta's favourite Hansi Flick

Hansi Flick has never been in talks with Chelsea. The former Germany coach is prioritising the option that has arisen in recent days, that of coaching Barcelona next season if it is confirmed, in a week's time, that the Barcelona board does not want Xavi Hernandez on the bench for next season. Fabrizio Romano, an expert in the transfer market, published information on the matter on Thursday morning.

The Italian claims that the German coach is the "main option" of president Joan Laporta, who will talk to his current coach after the last La Liga game against Sevilla. The Catalan press has already leaked that the meeting will be with the entire sporting commission, so leaders such as Deco and Bojan Krkic should be present. The recently finished campaign will be analysed and it will be determined whether the Catalan coach should be sacked.

In the second half of the season, the former Al Sadd manager announced his deferred resignation, his determination that, in the end, he thought it best to continue, and, now, he may have to say goodbye anyway. The turmoil around Barcelona has marred the end of a sporting year in which one of the interesting financial issues will be whether his remaining salary will be paid in full or resolved through an agreement.

The relationship between Xavi Hernandez and the Barcelona board went awry again with his statements in the press conference prior to the domestic game against Villarreal. He complained that, in the past, those who have been in his position were able to request reinforcements with a certain amount of ease from the bosses who, now, cannot provide the squad with all the quality they would like.
