Barcelona declare Nico and Balde non-transferable

Barcelona need to sell and reduce their wage bill, but they will not do it with Nico and Balde, two players from Barcelona's academy with a promising future ahead of them. The board is very clear about this.

According to 'Marca', Laporta met on Wednesday with Portuguese agent Jorge Mendes, who put offers for both players on the table, but in both cases he received the same response.

With Nico, Barcelona's plan is that he will soon renew his contract beyond 30th June 2024. His performances this season have been quite good and he is expected to be Busquets' replacement in the miedfiled.

There are offers at national and international level, also for Alejandro Balde, who is considered the long-term replacement for Jordi Alba at left-back. He has already appeared in the first team, but they want to be patient with his progression.

Xavi wants both to start pre-season with the first team on 4th July. Only Balde could leave, but only on loan and without an option to buy. He and Nico are absolutely untouchable.
