Barcelona assures Nico Williams they can afford to pay his termination clause

Barcelona are looking for fresh legs for the ‘Cule’ attack and the main target is Nico Williams. The operation is progressing and ‘Sport’ claims that the transfer could be completed in the next few days.

The player asked for guarantees from Barcelona that he could afford to pay his termination clause, which is 58 million euros. Said and done: the club would have ensured that they will have that money and, therefore, will be able to register Nico without problems, so he could play the first La Liga game.

The only thing missing, according to the aforementioned source, is the player's approval of the transfer. The 'Cules' are optimistic about the signing and are confident that next week, Nico will give his "yes" to change Bilbao for Barcelona.

The 'Lions' and 'Cules' will not have to sit down to negotiate. The Catalan side will simply inform the Bilbao side that they have paid their player's clause.

Barca have faith that they will be able to announce his arrival within a maximum of 10 days. In other words, he could be wearing Barcelona's jersey before the end of the month.
