Barcelona and Real Madrid set to fight over this French player

Every Real Madrid and Barcelona fan eagerly awaits to see which players is each of the two clubs going to pursue in the summer transfer market, but in 2017 the temperature is set to rise to boiling-hot as the two Spanish powerhouses are to find themselves in collision course over the same target.

Right now, Barcelona are supposed to be in pole position for the player that will be the big prize of summer 2017: Maxime Lopez of Marseille.

Scouters of the Catalan giants were in France recently to watch the 19-year-old player in action, as revealed by Barcelona daily newspaper Sport.

However, the Defensa Central website reported on Monday that Real also have set their sights on the young midfielder, with coach Zinedine Zidane asking from president Florentino Perez to secure his services as soon as possible.

Lopez started 12 Ligue 1 games with Marseille this season and has scored one goal while he produced four assists.

It is not too often that both clubs target the same player – Neymar was a notable recent exception and Barcelona ended up with the Brazilian star.
