A surprising piece of information was revealed this past week, linking FC Barcelona with a move for Turkish player Cengiz Ünder. The footballer, who is one of the most sought-after talents on the planet, is being monitored by the Catalan club.
After the news broke in Italy via 'Sky Sports', the move has been all but confirmed by the outlet, as Barcelona chief scout Ariedo Briada was confirmed to have been in Florence to personally watch the player, in Roma's clash with Fiorentina.
The player, who featured for 74 minutes of the match, was far from his best, as he made an error which led to a Fiorentina penalty, as scored by Veretout.
Ünder arrived in Rome in the summer of 2017, scoring 8 goals in his first season with the club, although his playing time only increased as the campaign progressed.
So far in the current campaign, the Turk has showed every bit of his quality, registering 3 goals and 4 assists in 12 matches played in all competitions. The player has shown himself to be versatile, playing on both side of the pitch, with ample quality.
It is precisely this versatility and quality that has endeared Ünder to Barcelona, who will stop at nothing to add further reinforcements to their already formidable offensive options.
