Barcelona have put in an offer to get Argentinian full-back Nicolas Tagliafico on loan from Ajax for the rest of the season. A source close to the negotiations has told 'EFE' this.
Tagliafico is happy about going out on loan and he is putting pressure on the Ajax board to give the green light to the move, the same source added.
The Argentinian's contract at Ajax runs until 2023, although the Dutch club promised the player that they would let him leave if a big European club put in a good offer.
According to 'De Telegraaf', the most read newspaper in the Netherlands, the main obstacle in negotiations is that Ajax would rather sell the player so that they can buy a replacement in the January transfer window.
Ajax coach Erik ten Hag had said he was opposed to letting Tagliafico go despite only starting him six times so far this season.
"I'll definitely fight to keep him, with him there, we have seven very good defenders. The moment he leaves, we'll lose solidity in defence," the boss said prior to Ajax's match at PSV, which the team from Amsterdam won 1-2.
