FC Barcelona lodged an appeal with the Competition Committee on Monday requesting that Brazilian striker Vitor Roque's second yellow card in the last LaLiga game against Alaves be withdrawn, sources from the club confirmed to EFE.
Roque was cautioned for the second time in the 72nd minute, just three minutes after his first yellow card, in an action with Rafa Marin that referee Martinez Munuera considered reckless and which led to his sending off.
The appeal is an attempt by the Catalan club's legal services to prove that the Brazilian striker barely brushed the Alaves defender in what they consider to be an incident of play.
The aim is to get the second yellow card annulled and allow 'Tigrinho' to play in the next league game against Granada.
