Gareth Bale, after playing the game against Iran, overtook the previous record for the Wales national side, with 110 appearances, which is more than anyone else in the 'Red Dragons' history.
The Los Angeles FC striker started on Friday against Iran, playing his 110th game, therefore seeing him overtake Chris Gunter, who is also is the squad, and could also play if Robert Page chooses.
The next active player in the standings is Aaron Ramsey, who started against Iran as well, with 77.
Bale, as well as being the player to have played the most games with the 'Red Dragons', is also Wales' all-time top scorer, with 41 goals, 13 more than Liverpool legend Ian Rush.
"I wasn't thinking a lot about the record. On a personal level it's a great achievement, and an honour to represent my side so many times. The most important thing is to win the game, which will make it even more special", the Cardiff-born man said in the pre-match press conference.
