League Two club Oldham Athletic had bailiffs turn up at their Boundary Park home stadium, after one of its players failed to answer penalty notices for driving in a designated bus lane in a club-registered car.
Officers from Manchester City Council arrived at the stadium after multiple penalty notices had been ignored, and so they took action in order to collect the sum of £400 from the player responsible.
Initially their presence was surrounded with much confusion and distress, but when the officials explained their appearance, the player in question was identified and forced to pay the sum.
A spokesman for the council spoke to the media after the incident, reading a statement which said: "Bailiffs visited the club in relation to a penalty charge notice incurred by a vehicle which was on lease to them. The outstanding debt has been paid in full."
