Bad news for Madrid: Militao injures his thigh with Brazil

Brazil defender Eder Militao will miss the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Ecuador and Paraguay after national team doctors reported a right thigh injury on Thursday.

Militao felt pain in training last Wednesday at Athletico Paranaense's training centre in Curitiba, and on Thursday underwent a clinical examination and an MRI scan.

The medical examinations found a "small injury" in his right thigh, according to a statement from the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF).

As a result, the player has been released from Brazil's two upcoming matches against Ecuador on Friday and Paraguay next Tuesday. The 26-year-old will return to Spain as soon as possible to be treated by Real Madrid doctors.
