Aubameyang will not start Arsenal's Premier League clash with Tottenham due to disciplinary reasons, Mikel Arteta revealed to 'Sky Sports' before the game. "He was going to start the game but we have a disciplinary issue. We had drawn the line and we move on, so he is on the bench"
When asked on what the breach was, Arteta remained tight-lipped: "We keep that internally. We have a process we have to respect and that's it."
He also refused to be drawn when asked whether he considered dropping Aubameyang altogether: "It is a decision I made after evaluating everything and what he has done and that's it.".
The Spaniard denied it was a blow losing the Gabonese striker and referred to the number of changes he has made in the past. "We have got other players that we play and we have had to change the team recently quite a lot and there are a number of players who are willing to play. So we are going to give them the chance and I am comfortable with that," he concluded.
'The Athletic' reports that Aubameyang arrived late for the North London derby at the Emirates and that it was not the first time he had arrived later than the agreed time.
The 31 year-old striker is on the bench and it remains to be seen whether Aubameyang comes on later in the game.
