Atletico Madrid are once again interested in Borja Iglesias, the Betis striker who is having a great season under Manuel Pellegrini. The aim is to sign him in January.
The departure of Matheus Cunha to Wolves, on loan with a compulsory option to buy, has allowed the 'Colchoneros' sporting management to turn their attention to the market and put new names on their agenda.
'Marca' reports that Joao Felix will be crucial in the attempt to sign Borja Iglesias. The Portuguese will have to leave, even if he is on loan until the end of the season, in order to carry out an operation that will be quite expensive.
Joao does not have a good relationship with Simeone and his future seems to be far from the Metropolitano. However, Atletico would prefer him to increase his value abroad and thus be able to make more profit in the event of a future hypothetical transfer.
In that case, Atletico will negotiate with Betis, who will make the operation very difficult. Borja Iglesias is Pellegrini's main striker at Betis.
Iglesias missed out on the World Cup by the skin of his teeth. Luis Enrique called before to other attackers more of a winger and cited only Alvaro Morata as a reference. He would be his main competitor for the starting place at the Madrid side.
