This Friday will be key as Atletico Madrid and Valencia are meeting to talk about Saul's future. Valencia coach Gennaro Gattuso is keen on him.
Before the start of the January transfer window, 'Relevo' says that Valencia had already shown interest in him. Now they are promising to return with another offer.
The previously cited source says that Valencia want to get hold of Saul until 2024, in other words, for the rest of this season and one more. In order to persuade Atletico, Valencia are reportedly willing to pay part of Saul's salary. It is currently around seven million euros a year.
At the Mestalla, they believe they will be able to get him. They think they would do Atletico a big favour because he hardly has a place in Simeone's side. In addition, they will pay some of his salary, something which was concerning Atletico.
Valencia want Saul more than anyone else. In fact, according to 'Relevo', the club are willing to pass on signing a winger, another of their priorities for January, in order to get the midfielder. The other option on the table is Phillip Billing of Bournemouth, but Gattuso believes that Saul is better for that role.
As for Saul, he is reportedly open to trying his luck at the Mestalla. It remains to be seen what happens with this move which is difficult, but not impossible.
