Atletico and Barcelona will fight for Aleix Garcia

Atletico Madrid's season is proving to be a disaster. The team managed by Diego Simeone are fifth on 24 points and out of all European competitions. It is for that reason for the club are looking to bolster their side and especially, the midfield. 

According to information from 'AS', Atletico are huge fans of Girona midfielder Aleix Garcia. The player, whose contract expires in June, was key to Girona getting promoted to La Liga last season and he is a regular starter in Michel's side. 

However, Atletico will have direct competition in Barcelona. The cited media outlet revealed that Xavi Hernandez's men are closely following the Girona footballer ahead of next season. 

At the Camp Nou the arrival of a player in midfield is a priority due to the more than probable arrival of Sergio Busquets. Many players such as Gundogan, Tielemans and Zubimendi have been linked.
