Athletic compete with PSG for Ander Herrera

Where will Ander Herrrera play next season? That's the question on everyone's lips, when the season is about to come to an end and the clubs are already starting to work on next season's squad.

One of the most high profile stories of the summer features the Manchester United man, who has been dreaming of playing for PSG.

With the media discussing his signing with Paris Saint-Germain, a new rumour has begun to spread, to the surprise of many in France.

Specifically, 'L'Équipe' has suggested that Ander Herrera could return to Athletic next year, a team for which he has played in the past, from the 2011-12 season until 2013-14, just before arrving at Old Trafford.

Returning to the Spanish League could be one of the 29-year-old's options, who would offer a bonus of experience and professionalism to the Athletic defence. 

According to the French media source, Athletic have put a salary in excess of six million euros on the table, exceeding that of PSG. The figure is also greater than that of his current contract.
