Cahill left Aston Villa in 2008 to head for Bolton for six million euros. Four years later, Chelsea lured him to Stamford Bridge and, since then, he has become one of England's best-rated central defenders.
However, his stint with the London club is over. Maurizio Sarri has barely given him a chance at the back and his contract expires in June, so he will be leaving after winning the Europa League.
The English central defender's goal is to continue in the Premier League at the age of 33. His former team-mate Lampard wants to convince him for his project with Derby County, but it seems that he is not convinced by the idea of playing in the Championship.
Now, rumours about his arrival at Aston Villa, newly promoted to the top flight, are rife with the England defender having significant experience with a dream in the Premier League.
If he goes to the 'villains' he will join John Terry, assistant manager, who could help him in his return to Villa Park. It would appear that Cahill will be leaving to join Aston Villa in the summer.
