Aston Villa's £5m bid for Kodjia rejected

Villa see the Bristol City forward as an ideal target to help them win promotion back to the Premier League, but Bristol City will not let their star striker go for cheap. 

The Robins have rejected Villa's £5m offer and it remains to be seen whether the recently relegated side will make another offer for the Ivory Coast forward. 

Kodjia scored 18 Championship goals last season and is wanted by a number of clubs both in the Championship and Premier League. 

Villa's approach for the 26-year-old may also mean that they are looking for a replacement for Jordan Ayew, who is wanted by Bundesliga side Hamburg.
