Aston Villa keeping an eye on Liverpool winger Ben Woodburn

The Championship club looked to be in dire straits only a few weeks ago, after their owner Tony Xia failed to keep the club's finances stable.

There seemed to be a mass exodus of players about to occur, with Jack Grealish thought to be the most likely player to have to leave to help the 'Villains' balance the books.

Now, Steve Bruce is able to think about adding players to his squad and not just losing them, after new investors were brought in to the club.

Woodburn, who is a Welsh international, is thought to be on Bruce's wishlist to join the team. He recently penned a long-term contract renewal with the 'Reds', and has been playing on their pre-season tour of the USA.

Despite his involvement so far for Jurgen Klopp's team, he is unlikely to get a lot of game time when the Premier League season starts, so it seems as though a loan move will be a viable option for all parties.

Should the promising young winger join, he would be the club's first signing of the window.
