A deal between West Ham and Aston Villa is close to be concluded, and both sides are in negotiations over the 29-year-old.
Villa's manager Bruce wants to add quality to his attacking options, but the deal is yet to be completed.
The Scottish international also received interest from Sunderland, Birmingham and Derby, however it is most likely that the midfielder will sign for Villa.
"He will add that bit of sparkle, if you like, up front. He can play in any position up front. He’s a very good player. Let’s hope we can do something. We have had conversations, but it’s not just a done deal yet. We’re hopeful that we can get something done", Bruce said.
