Asensio deserves more faith from Madrid

The young Spaniard has been claiming an important position at the Bernabeu this season and considering he's their third top scorer and equal first biggest contributor in assists, he certainly deserves it.

However, on numerous occasions he has had to make his impact from the bench, especially of late since the 'BBC' have returned to full fitness.

Nonetheless, only heavyweights Cristiano Ronaldo (25) and Gareth Bale (9) have found the back of the net more than Asensio (8) in all competitions so far.

In addition, if we take into account assists, the 22-year-old has provided as many key passes (5) as Ronaldo, Isco, Karim Benzema, Marcelo and Toni Kroos.

To make matters worse, the midfielder has been decisive in big matches when Zinedine Zidane has turned for his help. The most important of which came in that Champions League victory against Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday when his substitution changed the dynamics of the game, assisting Marcelo for that third and final goal.

It undoubtedly seems that Zidane should start counting more on Asensio in the starting XI.
