Fabio Paratici, Juventus' director general,. said that they will have to be creative during the market because of the coronavirus crisis. The Turin based outfit are looking to cut costs and sign cheaply. That is what they have done by signing Arthur and selling Pjanic.
One of Juventus' aims is to reduce their spending on players' salaries. Therefore, they will end the contracts of the highest earning players who they no longer need. The first, as 'Corriere di Torino' reported, will be Sami Khedira. But he is not the only one.
According to 'TuttoSport' this Wednesday, Juventus could also look for an agreement to end Gonzalo Higuain's contract. His contract ends on 30th June 2021.
The Argentine has one of the highest wages amongst the squad: around five million euros plus bonuses which could see it go up to seven. A departure was looked for him last summer after being loaned out to Milan and Chelsea, but it was impossible to sell him to another club because of his salary.
Now Juventus are considering ending Higuain's contract directly, as long as there is an agreement, like they did with Tevez back in 2015. When his contract was ended, he returned to Boca Juniors. Now, Higuain is reportedly not against a return to River Plate.
However, this is mere speculation. What does seem certain is that Juve will try and persuade Higuain to end his contract at Juventus, who do not count on him.
