The last day of the season did not go well for Leicester, as despite their 2-1 win over West Ham, they sunk to the Championship after just nine seasons in the Premier League. Now, facing a huge financial hit, the club will be looking to sell players, and their big names will be looking elsewhere to stay in top flight football.
'Mirror Football' reports the first to go will be James Maddison, who has already attracted attention from Newcastle, Arsenal and Spurs. The midfielder has just one year left on his contract and would cost somewhere around £40 million, according to the outlet, although Leicester would hope to drive it closer to £50 million.
Both Spurs and Arsenal are looking to boost their midfields, but Arsenal's prime target looks to be Declan Rice, so the Gunners might not be as desperate for Maddison as their north London rivals.
Several of Leicester's squad will become free agents this summer, including Belgian Youri Tielemans. Veteran striker Jamie Vardy has a year left on his contract, like Maddison, but at 36 years old, the striker may seem like a bit of a risk for other clubs.
