The Portuguese League is another great factory of talent for European football and one of the latest to be produced is Tiago Tomás. At 18, this striker is in his first season at 100% with Sporting's first team and has settled under Rúben Amorim.
So far, the under 19 international has played 1383 minutes in 25 matches, starting 15, and has scored 5 goals. One of his starts was against Benfica in the Lisbon derby, which Sporting ended up winning 1-0.
It was precisely this match that convinced Arsenal to go for him. According to 'The Sun', the Gunners are decided to try and sign him for next season.
The aforementioned media assures that talks have already taken place between Edu, Arsenal's sporting director, and Sporting's directors to lower his price, as until now they have been demanding the payment of his 55 million euro release clause.
The Brazilian knows that Arsenal's financial situation is delicate and that they are reducing the number of players in the squad. Even so, the Gunners will try to balance the books and not pay more than 22 million for him.
