The increase in positive cases of COVID-19 in English football is not going to be an isolated event in the Premier League. The competition is already weighing up stopping for a couple of weeks until the pandemic is under control again and now it has revealed that the stadiums will empty again.
According to Matt Hancock, the British Secretary of Health, England will go to Level 3 or 4, which means that the public will once again be banned from the Premier League.
Liverpool even had fans at the Boxing Day match, but this move to Level 3 or 4 makes it impossible to continue to have spectators on the pitch.
Clubs in districts that were at Level 2 were allowed to have a small number of fans, but this measure will end immediately.
Earlier this week the Premier League had to postpone Everton-Manchester City and Tottenham-Fulham because of the increase in positive cases at the sky-blue team and Fulham.
