Ancelotti worried: he has asked Florentino for a striker in January

Alarm bells started ringing at Real Madrid after losing to Rayo Vallecano. Ancelotti's team looked out of ideas and very disjointed up top, with Vinicius erratic and a Rodrygo who was unable to perform.

After losing away and because of the clear dependence there is on Karim Benzema, who was once against out and he was missed, the Italian manager asked Florentino Perez to sign a new striker in January, according to 'Sport'. Therefore, the Madrid front-line would be much improved.

And this is not the first time the ex-Everton manager has gone through something similar, in 2015 when his squad was not improved and he was forced out the door after not winning any important trophy. In the summer, the president tried for Mbappe who eventually extended with PSG.

With Mbappe and Haaland still on the list for the future, Real Madrid have a clear reliance on Benzema up top, and the team is suffering. The club had a real chance to sign Gabriel Jesus, but it fell through and the Brazilian ended up at Arsenal.

Another option which was offered was Raul de Tomas, but the scouting reports did not convince after his controversies in Espanyol, and the striker ended up at Rayo Vallecano. On the table is the option to buy the Brazilian gem Osimhen, or Leao.
