Gonul's misfortune left Besiktas in need of 8 goals to progress
Bayern Munich got the second half underway at the Vodafone Arena and it was not the re-start the hosts were hoping for.
Besiktas were looking to equalise the second leg after Thiago gave Bayern an early lead, but the Germans broke clear down the right with Ribery and Rafinha, whose cross was deflected past his own keeper by the unfortunate Gonul.
