Amavi's transfer to Sevilla cancelled

Amavi left Villa's training camp in Portugal to fly to Sevilla for a medical over the weekend. Unfortunately for him, Sevilla have announced that they will not continue with the transfer, because he did not meet the necessary fitness requirements.

According to Diario de Sevilla, extensive medical tests were unsatisfactory and the club pulled out of the deal. It is not clear why Amavi failed his medical. 

Amavi joined Villa in a £9m move from French club Nice in the summer of 2015 and has made 48 appearances in all competitions for the Birmingham-based club.
