Alexander-Arnold submits £84m bid to buy Ligue 1 club: reports

According to the report, Trent Alexander-Arnold has entered into talks with Ligue 1 side FC Nantes in a bid to buy the club. The French side are going through a difficult time financially, as is the case with the whole of French football due to the TV rights drama, and the player wants to take advantage of the situation to invest in the club.

The operation would be carried out through a London investment fund managed by Alexander-Arnold's father. Before knocking on the door of Nantes, the English footballer had also sounded out Saint-Etienne and Le Havre, but it seems that the club now chaired by Waldemar Kita has been more attractive and also more open to the sale.

The full-back has a stake in Apex Capital, the company in which, along with Juan Mata and Patrick Mahomes, he put money into Alpine F1 Team, the Renault-branded Formula 1 team where Fernando Alonso returned to race in 2021 and 2022.
