Fernando Hierro, who works for Chivas Guadalajara as sporting director, will leave the Mexican club and join Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr. The Portuguese were already trying to take him to Saudi Arabia.
The Spaniard is in Riyadh to sign the contract and finalise the deal, according to ‘ Relevo’. The agreement is a reality that only remains to be sealed and the official presentation will take place soon.
Hierro already has experience in the office after his time with the Spanish national team and Malaga. He will be in charge of the Saudi Arabian club's transfers and he will have his work cut out, as the Arabs are aiming to wrest the hegemony in local football from Al-Hilal.
The former Real Madrid man is not the first Spaniard to leave for Saudi Arabia as sporting director. Ramon Planes left his post at Real Betis to join Karim Benzema's Al-Ittihad.
