Ajax eye Krul to replace Cillessen

The Newcastle man has been out with a long-term knee injury, but is set to return to full fitness very soon.

Newcastle signed 'keeper Mats Sels this summer and also have Karl Darlow and Rob Elliot as back-up, meaning that the Magpies would not stand in Krul's way should he get the opportunity to leave.

The 28-year-old is also said to be on £60,000 per week, an astronomical wage for a reserve player in the Championship.

Krul has also been linked with moves to Middlesbrough and Everton this summer.
