Agreement between Liverpool's Milner and Brighton getting closer

James Milner is living his last months as a Reds player. The Liverpool player could leave Anfield after eight years but will continue to play in the Premier League.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the English midfielder is close to joining Brighton as the deal "is getting closer". In this way, the Seagulls would tie up their second signing for next season, as Wolves' Joao Pedro will also join De Zerbi's side.

"James Milner deal, not completed yet but Brighton are confident to proceed in the next days/weeks as the agreement is getting closer. Discussions will continue on crucial details; Brighton want Milner as second signing after Joao Pedro who's 100% joining the club," the Italian journalist reported. 

The 37-year-old midfielder has been a key player for Liverpool in previous seasons, although this one he has played a secondary role, making 39 appearances but only 11 starts. Elsewhere, the Englishman has scored two goals and provided three assists in all competitions.
