After 12 years at Napoli, Hamsik wins his first league title with Trabzonspor

Marek Hamsik played 409 Serie A matches during 12 long seasons at Napoli and 42 more in the Chinese Superleague with Dalian Pro before arriving at Trabzonspor in 2021.

It has taken the 34 year old a total of 814 matches for him to finally achieve his first league title. The Slovakian international has done it with Turkish side Trabzonspor, who have now been crowned league champions for the first time in 38 years.

After the match, the player could not contain his emotions whilst still being on the pitch: "I don't know what to say. I'm so happy. It's amazing to achieve my first league title. I feel so good. Seeing the emotion and happiness of the Trabzonspor fans celebrating... I don't have anything else to add. A big celebration is about to happen".

Hamsik could not achieve this feat with his beloved Napoli, the team for which he scored 121 goals and made 94 assists. But, he has done it with the Turkish club where he has finally been able to lift a league trophy into the air.
