Abde rejects Leverkusen and Premier League, Xavi wants him to stay

Abde is staying at Barcelona. The academy player, who was undecided about his future because he has several offers on the table and wants to feel valued in Barcelona, met on Wednesday with the club, who reassured him. Xavi Hernandez is counting on him in the long term, considers him an important player for this season and has told the board that the moves that have been made for him in the transfer window must be rejected.

Fabrizio Romano, a specialist in the transfer market, reported on this through their social networks. There had been a meeting with Barca representatives and the player, who would welcome an improvement in his contractual conditions that would go hand in hand with the expected increase in prominence that he is going to have this season.

The other option was to accept a proposal from Bayer Leverkusen or one of several clubs from the Premier League. The previous season he spent outside the 'culé' sporting structure. More specifically, he played on loan at Osasuna, where he had a good year with 23 starts in 34 games, scoring 6 goals and providing 2 assists, the best record of his career.

Xavi already used Abde as a substitute in the first two rounds of La Liga. In the first, he played the entire second half against Getafe. He came on for the 16-year-old Lamine Yamal, but it was Ferran Torres who scored in the tricky visit of Cádiz.
