What if Callejón stays in Serie A? He's left Napoli and is on Villarreal's wishlist, but Lazio has snuck in on the bidding. 'La Gazzetta dello Sport' says there has been interest and 'Estadio Deportivo' points to an offer of 3.5 million euros a year.
That would be the salary of the player if he were to stay in Italy. He fills the need for a player of immediate quality. He does not need time to adapt having spent seven seasons playing in the Italian league for Napoli.
On top of this, the board feels able to put this generous offer on the table due to not having to pay a transfer fee to their league rival for the striker. It all depends on if he prefers to go to Spain or make his eighth year in Italy official.
And what would Callejón bring to Lazio? He's a right-winger that stays wide and, although his numbers have been decreasing for a couple of years, he still guarantees goals and assists. Long gone are the days in which he got 17 assists and scored 14 goals, but he remains impactful.
