FT: Wales 1-4 Spain. A comprehensive victory in the end for the Spanish as they cruise to the win thanks to goals from Paco Alcacer (2), Sergio Ramos and Marc Bartra, with Sam Vokes' header a mere consolation for the hosts. Spain were a class above throughout, though they took their foot of the gas somewhat in the dying stages of both halves.
  • 89 '
GOAL! WALES! VOKES!1-4! Vintage Sam Vokes. The corner is cleared and the ball is worked back out to Brooks on the right. He floats in a wonderful ball with the outside of his left foot and Vokes gets the better of his marker to flick a header into the far corner.
  • 88 '
Wales look to be in on goal as Brooks drives forwards before slipping in Roberts on the overlap, but his pass lacks pace and it gives Gaya the chance to steam back and make a sliding challenge.
  • 86 '
Spain respond immediately, with Rodrigo seeing his low strike being kept out by Hennessey, with Jonny only able to head a tame follow-up straight at the Crystal Palace goalkeeper.
  • 86 '
Lawrence forces a comfortable save from Kepa with a low volley from the right-hand side of the box.
  • 85 '
Wales force a corner down the right, but Brooks' effort after a quickly-taken set-piece is blocked away to safety.
  • 83'
GOOD DEFENDING! Richards does well to slide in an prevent Rodrigo from getting on the end of an inviting low cross from the left.
  • 81 '
Another change for 'La Roja' as Rodrigo replaces Suso.
  • 80'
Bartra has to be alert to clear after a promising raid down the right from the Spanish.

Goal disallowed

  • 78'
Aspas strokes an effort into the far corner after cutting back onto his favoured left foot but the offside flag had long since gone up to deny him. A word about Rodri's through ball, though, it was sublime.
  • 78'
Credit to the 50,000-strong Welsh crowd here, they remain in good spirits and fine voice despite the scoreline.
  • 74 '
GOAL! SPAIN! BARTRA! 0-4! Textbook from the centre-back as he meets a corner from the left with a perfect flicked header at the near post. Hennessey can only watch as the ball flies into the far corner via a kiss off the post.
  • 73 '
Two-goal hero Paco Alcacer makes way, with Iago Aspas on in his place.
  • 71'
GREAT DEFENDING! Brooks gets in down the right and crosses low for Vokes. He looks set to convert, but Jonny gets across to make the block and see off the danger.
  • 67'
Suso looks to put Morata in behind but slightly over-hits his pass, with the forward unable to bring the ball under his spell.
  • 65'
Morata can only guide a header well wide at the far post after getting in between two defenders.
  • 61 '
More changes for Wales as Smith, Lawrence and Richards come on for Allen, John and Davies. Spain also turn to their bench, with Jonny on in place of Cesar Azpilicueta.
  • 59 '
Ramsey tries his luck with a low effort from 25 yards, but Kepa is equal to his strike.
  • 58'
OFF THE BAR! Almost a stunner from Suso as he cuts in from the right and looks to shape a curling effort into the far corner with his left foot, only for his striker to thud against the crossbar and over. Wonderful technique form the AC Milan man.
  • 55 '
CLOSE! Almost a hat-trick for Alcacer as he meets Gaya's cross from the left unmarked but he can only head a yard or so over after craning his neck to meet the ball in.
  • 50 '
A concern here for Wales as Ethan Ampadu is forced off with a knock, with Andy King on in his place.
  • 49 '
Morata is denied by by Hennessey after being slipped in behind by Koke, Wales appeal for offside but their claims fall on deaf ears.
  • 46'
Wales get us back underway here in Cardiff!
  • 46 '
Changes galore at the break. Chester and Brooks are on for Williams and Wilson for Wales, with De Gea, Saul and Ramos replaced by Kepa, Koke and Bartra for the visitors.
  • 45'
HT: Wales 0-3 Spain. It's been one-way traffic so far here, with Spain by far and away the better side. Two goals from Paco Alcacer either side of a Sergio Ramos header have put 'La Roja' in the driving seat, though in truth they're yet to get out of second gear.
  • 43'
Hennessey is quickly off his line to hack clear as Morata looked to get in behind. Spain have found far too many gaps in the Wales back five so far tonight.
  • 39'
John drives forward down the left and feeds Vokes on the edge of the box. He tries to nudge the ball beyond Ramos and burst into the box but his touch is just too heavy and De Gea gathers. Better from the hosts.
  • 36'
OFF THE POST! Ampadu gets up to meet a right-wing corner at the far post but his looping header clips the outside of the post and goes behind. De Gea looked to have it covered.
  • 32'
Saul cannot bring Gaya's long ball under his spell as he looks to be in one-on-one with Hennessey. This could end up being a cricket score if Wales don't buck up their ideas.

  • 29 '
GOAL! SPAIN! ALCACER! 0-3! Wilson and Allen get in each other's way on the edge of the box attempting to clear and the former can only prod the ball into the path of Alcacer, who fires home first time on the volley for his second of the game. It's all been very easy for Spain so far.
  • 26 '
GOOD DEFENDING! Suso is put in down the right on the overlap and he crosses low to the far post, but Gunter is the first to react to turn the ball behind his own goal.
  • 23 '
Wilson tries to catch out De Gea by shooting from the dead-ball out on the Wales right, but his effort sails a couple of yards over the bar.
  • 22'
Wilson draws a foul from Ramos and it's Wales' turn to load the box.
  • 19 '
GOAL! SPAIN! RAMOS! 0-2! Rank awful marking from Wales. Suso floats in the free-kick left-footed and Ramos is all alone at the far post to head back across Hennessey and into the far corner. Ashley Williams is furious with his fellow defenders and this game is already starting to look beyond the hosts.
  • 19'
Gunter tugs back a marauding Morata and Spain have a chance to get the ball into the box.
  • 17'
The flag goes up against Sam Vokes as he looks to get on the end of Allen's pass.
  • 15 '
Morata finds space in between Gunter and Roberts down the left and his cross is headed behind by Davies at the far post. The corner comes to nothing.
  • 13'
Wales have finally got their foot on the ball a bit here, but they haven't looked like laying a glove on their opponents so far.
  • 10'
Wales snap into a couple of challenges in the Spain half but wind up committing fouls on both occasions.
  • 8 '
GOAL! SPAIN! ALCACER! 0-1! A great finish! Hennessey can only punch Suso's cross from the right as far as Gaya and his effort is cushioned either by luck or judgement into the path of Alcacer by Ceballos, with the Borussia Dortmund man taking a touch before curling wonderfully into the top corner from just inside the box to mark his Spain return with a goal.
  • 6'
Morata spins his man on the byline but his low ball in is claimed by Wayne Hennessey. Early signs of life from the Chelsea striker.
  • 4'
spain have started exactly as you would expect as they look to stamp their authority on the game.

The players make their way onto the pitch and it's time for the national anthems. There will be a minute's silence tonight to honour the victims of the floods in Mallorca, with two Britons among the dead.
  • PRVW
We're just 15 minutes away from kick-off here in Cardiff!
  • PRVW
Here's how these two have fared going into this one:
  • PRVW
Spain boss Luis Enrique: ''The friendly against Wales will let us try new things. The vital match is the Nations League game against England. In this one we can't try things, we have to win. Although this is a friendly, we are taking it seriously, in order to improve as a team.''
  • PRVW
Wales boss Ryan Giggs: "We want to win tomorrow, but on Tuesday there will be three points in play. (In the Nations League clash with Ireland). It's difficult but exciting to play against the best teams in the world and Luis Enrique is one of the best coaches."
  • PRVW
This is Wales' first game at the Pincipality Stadium since a 2-0 loss to England in 2011, in which Darren Bent and Frank Lampard scored.
  • PRVW
I'm going to call that one interesting as Ryan Giggs names no fewer than four full-backs in his starting XI. It would appear that Chris Gunter and Ben Davies will play as part of a back three alongside Ashley Williams, with Connor Roberts and Declan John playing as wing-backs. Joe Allen and Ethan Ampadu will man the engine room, with Harry Wilson and Aaron Ramsey providing support for Sam Vokes in attack.
  • PRVW
Wales: Hennessey; Gunter, Williams, Davies; Roberts, Allen, Ampadu, John; Wilson, Ramsey; Vokes.
  • PRVW
We're still waiting on the Wales lineup but we do know that star man Gareth Bale will not be involved tonight after he was forced off late on in Real Madrid's surprise defeat to Alavés on Saturday with a recurrence of the groin injury he has been suffering from in recent weeks. Despite the blow, Wales boss Ryan Giggs remains hopeful he will be fit to face Ireland on Tuesday.
  • PRVW
So, the visitors go with Cesar Azpilicueta and Jose Luis Gaya in the full-back positions with Jordi Alba out of favour and Dani Carvajal and Sergi Roberto injured, with Raul Albiol preferred to Nacho at centre-back. Atletico Madrid midfielder Rodri starts in place of Sergio Busquets in midfield, whilst there is a new-look front three in action as Suso and Paco Alcacer flank Alvaro Morata in attack.
  • PRVW
Spain: De Gea; Azpilicueta, Ramos, Albiol, Gayá; Saúl, Rodri, Ceballos; Suso, Morata, Alcácer.
  • PRVW
With neither of these sides in competitive action until early next week (Spain face England on Monday and Wales take on Ireland the following day) we're made to make do with a friendly tonight and whilst there are likely to be a few tactical and personnel tweaks from either side we should still be in for an entertaining 90 minutes of football.
